info on old .22

Hey,

My father-inlaw reciently showed me his collection and in it was a old .22 rifle with the serial# A8872. The rest of the inscriptions could not be read.

The cartridges were loaded into the butt of the stock via a little removable cap. This is a small rifle... a little bigger than a Cricket if I remenber correctly.

Would anyone know where to go on the web to run a serial search?

Thx in advance.

Three questions...

Does it fire long rifle or only shorts?  Semi-auto or bolt?  Besides the cap in the butt, does it also have a small hole further up on the stock where you can see into the tube magazine?
....make it count

Hey Robert,

It fires LR's in semi auto fashon. I'm not 100% on the hole. I will get some more info and possibly a picture and post it here tomorrow.
