Beats me?????????????? I get a message once in a while if I forget to post a subject line but usually have no problems here posting at all. I guess you will have to use the new support center and ask? Jim
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

Ain't got a clue. But this is not the appropriate venue for finding out. Use the Help Center Matt has set up. Just log into it and it goes directly to him for a fast response. It is now the correct mode of asking for help on GBO. You'll see it at top of page and at bottom of each page you post on. Just scroll to bottom and click it and fill in the blanks. Here is what you should see at bottom of page when you make a post:

Click Here to login to the GBO Support Center

I do belive that it is a problem of the proper data being sent to the proper place by the PHP script. Sometimes it gets lost and is not sure "where" and how to post, hence the "no post mode specified" error. It's something like that, anyway.

Thanks, Dad, say Dali Llama! :-)     What would cause or contribute to such outcome, ask Dali? :?

It's simple.  You have to enter your post mode....duh!

Post modes:

1) Flame
2) Snippy Comment
3) Hide behind someone else's argument
4) Quote everything, say nothing
5) Post then Delete
6) Just show your face
7) Say something meaningful, but unintelligble

Well actually, I wasn't thinking of anyone in particular.  I was making a joke, but now that I think about it, those post modes could be effectively used by anyone here - and frequently are.  I like posting and deleting lately.

Dali Llama say that, unfortunately, that be modus operandi of some posters on erstwhile Marlin Talk forum.  Dali notice they post something in fit of anger which show their true feelings; later delete post; and ultimately disavow any knowledge of post.  :x

Well, some people, myself included on occassion, will write something, then read it, and decide that they were just venting, and that it wasn't fit for human consumption.  Thank goodness we CAN delete those things.  I hate BBSs where you cannot delete or edit your own posts.  It's just the way some people are.  Ideally, we'd all think for a bit before we hit the post button, but nobody is perfect.

However, some make habit of such retraction and subsequent denial of post, say Dali Llama.  :x

Well, I am guilty of editing mostly because I say something I later think it ignorant....which may be all too often :)

But, can any member know that you have edited or deleted?  I assume moderators and staff can read both, even a deleted post...true? :D

When a member edits a post they've made it puts a notation to that effect at the bottom of the post. So yes if you edit the world knows it. If you delete it's GONE. No one can read or see it again. Not the moderators and not me.

Now I can see all the actions taken by Moderators. But not deletions by members.

This post ends this thread.
