Hi ya'll, I read in another thread that the vault lock is recommended for the 22 hornet, 25-20 etc cartridges. These all run @ 43,000 cup chamber pressure. Other cartridges in this pressure range are the 30-30, 30 carbine,45/70 trapdoor and standard, and almost all pistol cartridges. If the chamber pressure is how these actions were rated by Mr. De Haas any round 43,000 cup and under should be safe in these actions, right? Opinions please. Thanks guys.

Chamber pressure is not the only criteria in judging an actions suitability for a cartridge.  The stress applied to an action is a function the the pressure and the casehead area..  So while a Hornet and a 45-70 may well generate the same chamber pressures the hornet does NOT even begin to generate the same stress to the action as the 45-70.  There are also barrel shank diameters to consider as well as other factors.  Sounds as if DeHass suggested specific cartridges and you interpretted that to mean pressure levels...and generate another set of cartridges based on that single piece of faulty deduction..
