TF 99 combo
« on: January 14, 2005, 05:08:57 AM »
Can any of you knowledgable, trust worthy, kind and considerate folks give me any info on the TF 99 combo? It looks like a good deal, but I really don't know anything about TF airguns or the scope/mount they put on their combos. I'm considering the TF 99 in .22 and since they offer a combo with the scope/mounts, that seems like the best deal. How's the accuracy  and is the advertized power close? Trigger? Smoothness of firing? Company support? Thanks!

Sarge,

I own and shoot a Compasseco, Inc. Tech Force 99M in .22 caliber.  If you are looking at one get it from Compasseco as they are the only ones to install a Jim MacCari spring in the 99M.  It does make a difference.  With the MacCari spring it does give an honest 900 fps. with the lighter weight pellets.  Using my TF 99 last year(2004) I took two very nice turkeys and a number of Brush Bunnies not to mention the Gray Squirrels it took.  One thing, I don't know about the scope and rings that come with the combination model.  On mine I installed a set of high BLK rings and a BSA 3-12X 44mm air rifle scope that works great even on the "magnum" springers like the TF 99M.  Go to http://www.bsaoptics.com/productlist.asp?ID=11&Cat_Name=airrifle22.jpg&Cat_Code=AR&Cat_Type=RFAM to see the complete BSA air rifle approved line up.  For the price the Compasseco Tech Force 99M and the BSA scope is a great buy.  Lawdog
