Long story short. I sold a factory taper .270 barrel to fund a custom project and have regretted it ever since doing so (selling barrel that is). Got my new one today (factory .270 barrel) and went to the range. A couple of sighter shots and I was ready to check her out. 4 shots later I was looking at a 5/8"s group at 100 yards. Rem 130 grain Corelokts. Almost didn't try my handloads but said what the heck? 3 shots with my 130 grain SST's over 55 grains of IMR4350 flew into just over 1/2". No stringing whatsoever! Hot, cold, clean or dirty it shot the same. Luck? Maybe but I don't care! Still got about 12 days of hunting left to break her in right.
