Question for nohorse
« on: January 14, 2005, 01:21:59 PM »
If this is too personal/ none of my business, just say so.  I won't take offense and certainly do not intend to give any.
You offer your grandfather as a Confederate veteran.  Right?  I'm not doubting you, it's just that, my grandfather was born in 1876, my father in 1904, and I in 1948.  That's a pretty good stretch in generations, is it not?  Your grandfather must have been a very young soldier, and people can have children late in life through generations.  Of course, you could be old as dirt too!

I don't mean to stick my nose in where it doesn't belong, but just to show that it is possible. My Great Grand Father was born in 1838 and served in the 70th Ohio Vol. Inf. 1861-1864. My Grand Father was born in 1894 and served in WW1. My Mother was born in 1926. I was born in 1951.
Not many of us are that close to our Civil War ancestors today.
