7mm class...which encompasses .270, 7mm-08 and then not to be forgotten 7mm Rem Mag and 7mm Rem Ultra Mag.

And one caliber I have really been lockin at is the 300 wsm, but now that dad has made the deciesion not to buy win. shells I guees that is out.

He says his dad doesnt want to buy win. shells ...not win. rifles  8)
BIG DIFFERENCE, so yes the wsm and wssm shells are out...but the "regular" calibers are still in...

Deerslayer, I think you need to narrow it down soon. Because there are SO many calibers to try to choose from you're going to make you're head spin. Easiest way is to do a poll (some hate them but too bad) and most of the opinions on this site are educated opinions and come from experience (99.9% of them anyway :wink: ). I haven't shot any of the 7mm calibers on deer, so my vote is out. #1 says .270. A few people say 7mm-08 and I heard a few odd ones. Let's get da ball rollin.  :D

Fish...I think a poll would be a great ideal. But how many different calibers should I put on the poll?  :D

Everyone else... Winchester guns are not out of the question. The .270 WIN. would be just fine cause other copanies make a shell for them. We are just not going to buy win. shell. (if you want to know about that read my post on the win forum) I didn't know anyone else made a WSM shell besides win. :D

OK, best way to do this....go through the thread again, and put down every single caliber recommended. Otherwise it's an unjust post and the principle of it will be shot. DON'T LIST THE .22-250. :) PLEASE :-D .  :D

I think you just might be right. I have that scope on my LSS Mtn. Rifle in .260 Rem. The .270 Win. is the only one of the LSS Mtn. Rifles I don't own. Haven't seen one of them yet tho. I don't care much for detachable magazines tho some love them. For serious hunting I also don't care for walnut stocks even tho they've been in use a long long time. That rifle will do ya fine.

Thanks GB. I think I'm gunna go ahead and get the LSS, the dm might be cheaper but hell, I'm only 15 but, I think that this rifle will be around for a few generations so what is a few 100 extra gunna hurt?

:agree::agree::agree::agree:

I'm glad you made a good call. I think a lot will tell you the same thing I'm gonna tell ya; you won't be sorry. That gun most likely when loaded with the right bullets, it will drop anything in it's tracks! :D
