How to mount Williams FP sight?
« on: January 15, 2005, 01:04:42 PM »
I want to use the williams FP sight on a .45-70 Handi with a .22 Hornet front sight. Does the Williams mount using the scope rail threaded hole?  Or, is this a gunsmith project requiring drilling and tapping new holes to mount the Williams? Appreciate any "how to" info I can get.
Thanks is advance.

If you bought the sight from H&R I would think it would fit both holes. I know the front sight is a screw on, real simple. I bought a Williams Guide Sight (WGS) with an open blade to try on one of my Handis and I had to have one addittional hole drilled and tapped over the chamber for the sight. If it is a peep sight try to get it as far back as possible on the chamber area of the barrel using the rearmost scope rail hole for the rear sight attaching screw....<><....

Here's a closeup pic of the FP sight.

Does not require drilling and tapping.
Fits factory drilling and tapping on top of barrel.
