Is a Sidekick a Handi?

Can I buy a Sidekick and send it back to NEF for a rifle barrel addition looking at a .308 eventually? Well I am confused is a Sidekick a Huntsman or a Handi?Dang I can't even state the question properly.

mrlizzard, a Sidekick is a Sidekick and thats all it is. It will not accept addittional barrels as the Huntsman or Handirifles will. Handi's, Ultra's, Huntsman's, Sportsters and Sidekicks are all made by H&R/NEF. The Sidekick was made specifically to be a muzzleloader and therefore is not classified as a "firearm" by the ATF....<><.... :grin:

mrlizzzard, why don't you buy the .308 and then send the frame to NEF to have them install the muzzleloader barrel. I had bought a Handirifle in .223 and sent the frame into NEF to install a 30-30 win, and Huntsman barrel. I have been happy since....

Jerry and MSP,Dang I'm dumb,I have  2 223's  I am going to send one of them in.I can't seem to get these terms straight:

                                           Huntsman?-is this a shotgun that will not except rifle barrels?
                                            Handi?- is this a piece that will accept shotgun and rifle and muzzle barrels?
                                            Sidekick?- is this a piece that will only be a muzzle loader?

mrlizzzard, Like I always been taught; no question is a dumb question. Better to ask then be confused.  The Huntsman is a muzzleloader barrel, I have it installed on a rifle frame. The Handirifle will except rifle, shotgun and muzzleloader barrels. (but call NEF and they can tell you what barrel your frame will except. The sidekick is a muzzleloader.
