Interesting Ruger Blackhawk
« on: January 17, 2005, 06:37:43 AM »
I bought an interesting Ruger Blackhawk last weekend. It is a .357 Ruger Blackhawk with a 4-5/8" barrel. The serial number is 43XXX. According to my Ruger book, this is a transitional piece and one of the first of the three-screw models with the ears around the rear sight. It has the Micro sight on it and has a steel ejector rod housing. It was built in late 1962 or early 1963. According to the book, the earliest 4-5/8 model with the ears is in the 44,000 range. As far as I can tell, all is original. Would this revolver have any collector value? Regardless, I intend to shoot and enjoy it.

I sure don't know, but ask this same question over on www.RugerForum.com and you will get more info than you proberly need on it.  there's a couple of very knowledgeable folks there more than happy to answer your questions - especially on Old Model Rugers.
