The load was 45 grs. H4895 under a 235 gr. speer hot core. This is not a max load for i have shot 47 grs. with ok pressure signs. For those of you interested, i have included a picture of the recovered bullet. The hog was shot mostly facing me at 12 yards and the bullet went in the neck, through the shoulder and lodged under the hide 2/3rds down the hog on the same side. No bone was hit, just scapula cartilage- i think. What took a lot of the energy was traveling laterally through the plate, or "shield"- i think. Kinda interesting anyway. Not much expandtion with this bullet, and im suprised it didnt keep going. I will have to chrony these loads to get a better idea.

Nice shootin' Tad.  I haven't used the JDJ in the field yet, but will next year.  I have worked up similar loads, 48 grs of H4895 under the Hornaday 220 grs JSP.  It is a handful to shoot, but you can go up to 52 or 54 grs I believe.  Can't remember for sure, but that would be too much for me.
Just another voice in the crowd!!!

Nice pigs Tad. That .375JDJ is a nice pistol to have when hunting hogs. I have had one for a couple of years and I will keep it. I shoot IMR4895 and Hornady 225 Jacketed flat points for playing and Nosler 260 Accubonds and Hornady 270 SP's for hunting.
I keep taking mine to my lease hoping some of those pesky hogs that are tearing up my food plots will show. I took one three years back with a 309JDJ. It was 275lbs and some good eating.
