I recently aquired a copy of a picture of my Great Grandfather who was a private in the Union Army in the Civil War, he is holding a single shot cap and ball pistol.  If there is someone who thinks they can identify the pistol, would you please PM me with an e-mail address and I will scan the picture and send it to you.  Thanks.  Jim
