outlawsix:

Thanks for your work in coordinating this for the first round and provide that contact info. When you get a moment would you care to comment on the product, the process(ordering delivery), etc? Apparently you sent the forends to another party for inletting?

Understanding the stock maker does not want to deal with the public, perhaps future group buys might be acceptable...

The product was just as high quality as what was gotten through VVC. As well it should be because it was the same fella doing the work. :)

Ordering was straight forward. I told him what was wanted and even though he said he needed a minimum order of 10 I only could get together an order of 8 pieces. He still did the job. It only took him 3 weeks to get the order finished.

The hard part was finding someone to do the inletting work. But finally found someone. Getting the guy to finish was the hard part. He's a great guy but had a lot of irons in the fire. If I had the time I would have gotten a mill and did it myself but time is something I don't have a lot of.

I imagine that if enough peole get together then a group order would be alright. However someone else would have to be the middle man.
If an order is placed I'll take 2 more buttstocks.

And with Christmas coming up everone could use some extra money. Now might not be a bad time to get an order together. At least 10 items and as mentioned before I'll take 2 buttstocks. Let me know who'll be doing the handeling of the order and I'll be in touch with you.

Wow thanks for the quick response :D

First off, I want to be clear that I wasn't looking to set you up as middle man once again. I was just looking to get as many details as possible and gain an appreciation for what kind of effort was involved. Also, it was good to confirm that the stock sets met or exceeded the quality expectations. I don't think that's something to be assumed - even though the stockmaker was the same.

Likewise I'm not sure I want to be the middleman but understanding someone has to do it I wouldn't totally rule it out...

A high quality Kevlar Encore stock certainly interests me. Of course sight unseen it's tough to know what to expect. I never learned of these while they were being offered by a "certain" custom shop. I'd like to somehow learn more. Is it patterned exactly like a factory stock or different? How are people finishing them? Etc.

It would be nice to get some dialog going at this point in the form of feedback from owners of these stock sets or input from those interested in obtaining one.
