bullet recommendation for 7mm-08
« on: January 19, 2005, 07:35:28 AM »
I'm putting together my first Encore pistol and am looking at the 7mm-08 barrel.  I plan on reloading for this round.  I've had all the reloading equipment for the last 10 years but never really got into it for my rifles and it was been packed up for the last 8 years.

With the multiple bullet manufactures and the multiple bullets each manufacture makes I am looking for a recommendations for a bullet for the 7mm-08.  I am planning to hunting whitetail deer but wouldn't mind having a bullet that would take both hogs and Black Bear if I chose to hunt them in the future.  Generally will be taking shots less than 100 yards but could go as far as 200 yards on my property.

Thanks for any input

The 140 partition will work great for that appliccation.  Accubond should too, but I have never used them yet.  I used the 140 NBT's for pd's to mulies with great satisfaction also

Like XP I have used the 140 BT in my 708 with good results. Just this year I purchaced some 140g Accubonds and they seem to be as accurate as the BT's. Last year I took a nice muley at 75 yards with the BT and it peformed well although it seemed to come apart on the off side but it did the job! Am thinking of trying the accubonds next year. They may also be better suited for the hogs.
