AR-15 parts kits
« on: January 19, 2005, 01:17:55 PM »
What do you think about the AR 15 parts kits?  Are they high quality?  Junk?  Does anyone have any experience with Model 1 and M&A Parts?

Also, is an AR a good coyote gun?  I'm new to predator hunting, but it seemed like a lot of fun the few times I've gone, and my dad likes his M16 (he's in Iraq right now.)  Thanks!

If you go to AR15.com and read the build it yourself forum you will see that some folks have good luck with the kits from M&A and Model 1.
But I have also read about bolts breaking by the cam pin.
If you spend the extra $150.00 to buy a new rifle you have a warranty.

I think you would be better served with a factory gun.  Building an AR has its merits, though I think it benifits competition shooters more than anything.  Like cj5 said, a factory gun gets you a warranty as well.
