... at which it was fired. bang-flop for 130-pound or so cow-horned spike whitetail with brow tines.
i'm telling you, this is the best-named rifle in the business; it is the perfect tree stand/in the stuff rifle.
green-yellow box rem factory 150-grain core-lokt. about 55-55 yards.
the trigger on this 2004-model handi, i'll say again, is the sweetest factory tigger i've ever experienced from the box.

Congratulations on the deer.  I just ordered my first Handi yesterday in 7mm-08.  I hope it ends up being a good shooter as well.  Enjoy the backstrap!

That deer probably didn't know your rifle didn't cost a arm and a leg or he never would have dropped that quick.  :)  Congrats!

Good job!!!!!!!!!!!!   And if you decide to go hunting anywhere else in North America that 30-06 Handi is up to it.  I've not only taken Whitetails with mine,  in August I killed a Caribou, at 200 yards.  And in November I shot a Moose at 250 yards.  One shot each with a Nosler Partition 180gr.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

that's two for two with handis this season. a fat six-point went bang-flop when i used my son's ultra in .308. i've killed 'em with an older model handi in .30-'06 and a .44 mag, so i ain't no handi greenhorn. i'm telling ya, though, i am in love with this '06. i just thought i was in love with my nicely sporterized m-96 swede. i just thought it was perfectly balanced. now then, if i can just out away the bread on a bushnell legend 3x9x50 or a weaver k4 or k6 or a leupold m-8 4x33 or IOR valdada 4x ...
i tend toward fixed powers. might get the m-8 and mount it as low as possible with a tad o' hammer bobbing ...
