Sounds like you keep a schedule like me. When sleepy go to bed. When not sleepy get up. Do as you please at all times. Ah retirement. If it just didn't come with all the aches and pains, medications, doctor visits and operations it would be nice.

Us third shifters have a full night of work in and are ready for bed again.

Take care of your back Jon.

Almost time for my nap...

Heck at 3:15 in the morning the only thing I would be doing is getting out of bed to go get rid of coffee.  I do all of my computer work during the day when I get bored at work.  With such a great sales job like I have, time is not the problem.

Its not the pain... its more of an irritating feeling and nothing make it better... aint gonna do the meds again.  So I get up and sit at the puter until I get that feeling in the back and then I need to lay down again.

Well its just a sign... you know ol Jeff said... heres your sign  :-D  oh I don't mean that sign.....

But yep... I can get up when I want... and go to bed when I want... I just can't buy everything I want

Ahhhhh,retirement
« Reply #6 on: January 21, 2005, 05:05:41 AM »
I am starting my third year of retirement and like you I sleep when I am sleepy, eat when I am hungry,do what I want when I want and generally just enjoy life.
Like you also I have my share of identifiable and unidentifiable and irritating aches and pains and sometimes I am up at 3AM at the puter.
Getting old sure ain't for sissies.BUT...retirement sure beats the hell out of going to work every day despite the price we pay for it.The actual thought of going back to work makes me sick to my stomach.
Look at the pluses. We can go hunting, fishing or shooting during the week.No waiting for the weekend. How many times did you want to be doing one of those pursuits when you worked rather than being at work?
You get "senior prices" at all fast food restaurants.
When you smile at a pretty young thing, she smiles back knowing that you are harmless.Little does she know........
You can get away with a lot of crap that people would otherwise be greatly offened by just because you look older.
These are the GOOD DAYS.I am enjoying the heck out of them.

Signed,

I sleep sporatically also....when I get sleepy....I rarely sleep a full 8 hours anymore ...depends on what I do during the day... I'm mostly a hoot owl...stay up to wee hours of morning and sleep to 8 or 9.. nap after lunch and I'm good til dinner...then a short nap and up till two or 3 AM... I too would hate to go back to work!! haha Although I've been thinking of getting a PT job somewhere to make some extra jingle....the only snag I have with that is I will prolly be reporting to or working for some snot nosed, big headed little dweeb that .....oh never mind...

I am up all night most of the time. I sleep when I can. Forget the clock. I am retired but not by choice. You have heard of the practice of Medicine? Well some of them PRACTICED on me with pretty poor results. For me anyway. Anyway now I am out for the duration when it comes to working. I have some good days and some not so good days. I miss working. (but not much). I have been a hunting and fishing guide, Had a small sporting store and did carpenter work for 40 years. I quess I need the rest. I liked selling guns and guiding fishermen to Canaada about the most. Hunted up there a lot as well for moose and bear. Montana. I know what you mean. so much to buy and so little money.
shot placement is everything.

We are getting a Blizzard today. Snowed all day with 40 MPH winds. I am a serious shooter but this is a bit much for me. I hope the wife gets home from work. She works about five miles out of town. I have a big roast all ready for supper. Hope I don't have to eat it all Myself :)

I'm hoping to visit the SRI show at the Sparks Convention Center while I'm in Reno... BTW there will be plenty of dealers with booths like Shiloh and maybe C. Sharps... who knows maybe even H&R 1871.

Shot show
« Reply #15 on: January 21, 2005, 02:34:59 PM »
Yes NEF/ H&R will have a booth at the shot show.  Maybe you will see it and remember me to them--and tell them that .379/.376 bore/lands may be what a lot of ancient Winchester 38-55 rifles have for bores but it ain't what they should be putting out in new rifles.

My rifle with letter should be at their factory by then too.

I hope someone that knows what they're doing in respect to the 38-55 gets it; Gordon (the "boss" of customer service) sure doesn't.

There I feel better now.

Hey Montanan, you and your family be safe and enjoy that trip. Were expecting 18-24 more inches of snow starting tomorrow and it's about zero right now here on lovely Cape Cod where it never snows!!! I passed on leaving for Maine early this morning for a couple of reasons, one of which was leaving my wife a daughter home alone with a couple of feet of snow on the way. Well after its all put in neat piles by the beginning or middle of next week I can leave, OH NO!!! My wifes birthday!!!  Well there is always a couple of days after that....<><.... :-D

Yep... AGAIN last night, although I did not get on here and start complainin  :x

I know what the problem is... nothing to do with a bulge tween the L4 & L5 plus the other problems with the back.

All I know is when I was working no problem because I was always on the go.... now that I'm not working the problems seem to be highlighted by this inactivity..... of not working.

Semi Retardment  :coffee:  ..... I mean semi retirement is loads of fun

I think I'll have me some more :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

I never sleep that long at one time!! I wonder who's Birthday it will be next Saturday night???? :-D  :-D
