Sportsmans/Rod and Gun Clubs Guide

So do you belong to a sportsmans club? If so what does your club offer and what does it charge for dues and usage fees. The sportmans club I belong to is the Tonawanda Sportmans club and it has an annual membership dues of $185.  It has 6 skeet fields, 9 trap fields ( $3.50 for 50 clay birds), 2 sporting clays ($6? for 50 clays), indoor pistol or 22 rifle range (25 yds? and if its not busy you can shoot archery in there), large outdoor pistol range, and 50/100/200 yard out door rifle range ($2 a day usage fee for outdoor/indoor shooting ranges.). They also have 265 acres that you can hunt on (also in the process of adding 50 more acres) of which 130 are wetlands. They run a pheasant club which is hard to get into and runs an additional $80 ( they release pheasants for weekend morning hunts.) They also have a very nice club house/bar where they serve dinners every Friday night.
What they really lack is archery ranges, both indoor, outdoor and 3d. They use to have an outdoor range but the members that used to set it up every year apparently are no longer there or doing so just no longer doing it.

So whats your club like? You don't have to mention the name of the club if you don't want to.

I put ? where I wasnt sure if I was 100% correct for the pricing.

I belong to a local club the black lake fish and game club. They have a nice club house where I teach hunter safety classes. They have a 50 yard and up to 250 yard shooting range which is covered.  They also have one trap range and a sporting clays set up.  Fixed and 3d archery trails. The membership fees are 15 dollars a year.  15 position sporting clays is 15 dollars( 75 targets) . Trap is 2.50 for 25 birds.

I belong to two clubs here in WNY. The Grand Island Rod and Gun Club. And the Niagara County Sportsmans Association.

The Grand Island Gun Club has Skeet, Trap , and a  10-200 yrd rifle range. The club itself is open everyday with the exception of a couple holidays. With the proper training and authorization the skeet and trap fields can be used anyday the club is open. $3.00(member) and $4.00(non-member guest), a round for trap or skeet. The rifle range is open the same with a minimal fee for both member and non-member.

We have winter and summer in house trap and skeet leagues that are always a good time.

Great club,Great people, and very reasonable dues @ $55.00 a year.

The Niagara County Sportmans Association is another great club. They have a trap, indoor and outdoor pistol ranges, a 50yrd plinking range and 100-200-300 yrd rifle range. Can't be beat for fine tuning you rifles and handguns.

Wow!! So many sportsmen here and so few sportsmens clubs listed .

Rwalter63 are you going to the  gun raffle at TSC Sunday? I'm not a member but I'll be there. I'm a firm believer in supporting Gun and Sportsmens clubs. If someone waves a raffle ticket under my nose I'll usually make a donation. Who knows some day I might get lucky. If I don't I just chalk it up as a fun day out with a few beers, a meal and comraderie with other sportsman. :-)

Good Luck

str8shooter48,

As a matter of fact I just got back from dinner at the club a few minutes ago. Unfortunately I have got to work Sunday so I not 100 % sure if I am going to attend. I purchased a ticket for the raffle already and I probably am going to go for awhile. I'll probably get there around 12:30 and stay maybe to 3:30. I working overtime at 4:00pm.  Hopefully I'll see you there. Send me a private message if you like and we'll sit down and have a beer.

I belong to the Elbridge Rod & Gun Club, PO Box 456, Elbridge, NY 13060.
It is a very family oriented club with inexpensive dues: $25/year/member, and $30 for families.  We have about 660 members. The club has a covered pistol range, used mostly by the local law enforcement communities for qualification.  Our covered 100 yd. range has a skeet house.  We recently added an archery range and parking and camping facilities for our meets.
The Club's main interest is in black powder muzzleloader meets held 4 times a year in February, June, August and October.

Hey Savage I have a good friend from cicero who belongs to Elbridge. He asks me every year to go and shoot in the muzzleloading weekend there, but, I always have a thing going on. Hopefully I will make it this year.
