Synthetic Stock forearm fit super tight?

Hey I ordered the synth. stock and the fore arm is HARD to put on.

  Any of you guys have that with yours...

Ya darn near have to put your weight on it to get it to go on.

Is it the size of the barrel channel or the location on the threaded barrel in relation to the hole for it in the forearm that is making it fir so tightly? If it opens and closes VERY stiffly after the forearm is put on that would indicate the forearm is rubbing a bit to hard on the reciever...If that is the case you could enlarge the hole in the forearm a bit more to the rear (towards the reciever), but just by a few thousandts. or you could relieve the rear of the forearm where it makes contact with the reciever by wrapping an appropriate dowel with sand paper and  carefully sanding it. The synthetic stuff sands quite hard though. Let us know if it is the barrel channel or the stud hole placement. The barrel channel can also be relieved by wrapping the correct sized dowel with sandpaper and carefully sanding it, or you could use the o-ring which keeps the forearm free floated from the stock....<><.... :grin:

Spot Shooter,
I found something similar when I switched the forearm off a Survivor, and added a forearm from a Ultra Rifle. The action would open very stiffly. It first appeared that the heavy barrel was too big for the barrel channel in the forearm, but after looking more closely, I found the barrel stud was located on the barrel just a little closer to the reciever on the Survivor, than it was on the Ultra. I just removed the spacer and took a bit off the reciever end of the forearm. It didn't take much.

I third that! Have had the same problem..Sanded where it touchs the receiver also....(on thre forarm) (as per retired state troopper).. Also used a fine rat tale file in the screw hole.. (upper part of the hole nearest the top of the forarm)its kind of stepped in the hole just a couple of strokes near the back...but yes at first had to force it on was not cool... but it fits much better now....
