Gunnut69, I'm hoping you can give me some guidance on this. I've had this Colt replica for about ten years. This past summer it started acting up, not moving to the next chamber when I pulled back the hammer. Then I couldn't get the half-cock notch......it would go past it to the next click. Now it's just locked up. I've taken it apart, oiled it, put it back together......nothing.....it won't cycle. I know it's not worth much but I'd like to get working again. Any thoughts? Thanx, jd45.

some of these clones were made a bit soft.  The sears/hammers etc kust didn't hold up.  It's really hard to say without looking but I'd bet the half cock notch is rounded off and the hand worn too short to correectly time the revolver..  Take it to a good smith and have it rebuilt.  The sear surfaces can be either rebuilt and/or recut..and recased.  The sear can be stretched of replaced.  If rebuilding they can be welded up and cut to fit, then hardened.  No single action is really cheap any more!  Some of the copies use a in the hammer safety system.  These are a royal pain in the behind.. I have repaired some and  I have replaced some and some were simply eliminated.  That last option is an attorney's noghtmare.  You are in eleminating a 'safety' system, and even though it didn't work sorth a hoot, if someone is hurt you'll probably have legal problems..   I usually leave them in place and just fix around them..sometimes it's tough. Some Colt parts will interchange, with fitting..  Good luck!
