MARBLES TANG SIGHT ?
« on: January 22, 2005, 09:36:32 AM »
:D
Hi folks,  haven't visited here for quite some time.  Hope everyone is off and running into a prosperous new year.
I wanted to ask if anyone has tried the Marbles tang sight that's made for the Browning 1885 w/o a tang?  I have one I'd surely like to put one on but was wondering how they mount, (do you have to inlet into the wood) and also how they look after mounting.
I'd really appreciate replies from anyone with practical experience to share particularly a picture of how it looks on the rifle.
Temper is a quality that at a critical moment brings out the best in steel and the worst in people.

I haven't tried it but I know a couple who have.  One just used the wood and the other put metal inserts into the wood to hold the screws.  The inserts worked the best.

Even better is a couple of guys on the net who had a tang added.  This is more expensive but in the long run was the best and looks the best.

If you need a sight, I have one off of a Browning.  I replaced it with a target sight.  It is as new.
