:D    Time for quick update....

I have been given the job of computer nerd for the 2005 Conard Cup...

As of today, Feb. 20th.....there are 74 people signed up to shoot.

As previously stated, the match will be limited to 80 shooters.

That leaves six slots open...For those of you who want to attend, I would suggest that your entry forms go out in the mail very very soon.

Thanx....Marv

I might be too slow on the draw on this anyway, but I might as well ask. I got a registration form from Gary (sorry, don't know his last name) at the monthly match at Machias and have read over it. On first glance, it seems that each competitor has to shoot both hunter and standard classes. Is this true? If so, that probably knocks me out of the running, as I don't have a hunter class rifle and probably don't have the time or funds to get together a decent one before then, especially if I need to have shot a match with it and gotten put into a class before then. It sure sounds like a wonderful event, though. Maybe I'll get to participate next year.

Jason,
If you want to shoot, sign up and come on down.  There will be 99 other people there with a hunter rifle and i'm sure we can get someone to let you shoot theirs.

You are more than welcome to shoot mine. I'm 5'9" with a pretty standard length of pull. I have my scope a bit canted but you'll get used to that pretty quickly.  Anschutz action with a 2 stage trigger and a Weaver 10x scope.  It will be sighted in and I'll provide the ammunition.  If you want to try it I'll be shooting at the Tacoma Sportsmen's Club this Saturday morning and instructing a Silhouette Clinic at the range later that afternoon.

I was talking to Marv this weekend at the Pe Ell match and he said they relented and have opened up one more relay.  They are allowing 100 shooters.  They hit the previous limit of 80 shooters more than 2.5 months before the match.  I believe Marv said they have 97 shooters signed up and it looks like those last three positions won't last long.  So if your comin, come on along!

Well Done Dave!  How can you go wrong with an invitation like that?

Umm.. Hard to resist that offer indeed. I'll send in my registration today, as soon as I talk my sweet wife out of a check. I'll also be there Saturday morning for the shoot in Tacoma. I'll send you an email to get directions and to get more info about the clinic.

Thanks!

Well, it's just three days away!  After two years of mosly sunny weather it is hard to imagine another nice weekend of weather at this fantastic match.  What do you locals predict?

What is the number up to for Hunter and Std?  Rumor had it bulged past 80 so get skinny if it rains :)

I'll be leaving Portland VERY early Friday morning should anyone need a lift north.  On the return I'll be heading back to Portland to make a 11:30 pm flight home Sunday night.

The weather's supposed to be beautiful through next Tuesday. I'm not sure if I'm heading down Friday morning to practice a bit that day or just get up really early on Saturday and only stay down there Saturday night. Since I'm coming from almost an hour north of Seattle, it's way too far to drive each day. I should probably already have plans on where I'm gonna sleep, but I can't make those plans until I finalize the things that are deciding whether I get to drive down on Friday or not. Oh well, I'm just an A-class shooter (though I only need one more AA score to move up, woohoo!) so it's not like I'm gonna miss out on some huge prize if I drop a couple points from being tired. :)
