Beaver trapping using box traps?

I know that this question may sound utterly stupid and a little absurd but I live in Massachusetts and a few years ago the people were hoodwinked into outlawing leg hold and Conibear trapping. Needless to say beaver abound.

I was thinking of trying to get a beaver or two but I am limited to using some sort of box trap.

How effective is it to get beaver using a box trap? Is it even possible or practical? I would really like some info on this subject, thanks.

Bvr can be caught in box traps .  Lots of bvr have been caught in clam type live traps but those are under water to start with.  Some friends of mine experimented with box traps and caught bvr regulary with them.  They made thier own traps and were thier own design.  They set some right on sand bars and baited with aspen and lure and that worked.   Give it a try
