Upon the recommendation of a Levergun Nut, w30wcf, I bought the 311284 mould and cast 100 of them over the past weekend from 50-50 ww-Linotype metal.
I loaded 34 rounds for my CZ 308 rifle and 40 for the TC Encore in 308. Took all the bullets to the range today, but forgot the Encore. However, I was pleased with the results in the CZ rifle. 200 and 300 meters were gimmes on Silhouettes and I even hit 5 turkeys in a row at 421 yards with an enormous amount of hold over. I need more elevation.
The bullets were too long to fit in the Saeco Lubrisizer, so I pulled out the Star Luber that has a throw that I could fit a 2 inch bullet in. I had a .310 die for the Star too.
The bullet cast so close to .310 that the sizer barely touched the bullet.
I use 50-50 Alox and Beeswax lube and drop the lubed bullets in a rag on a slant that I spread motor mica on. The rolling bullets pick up the mica. It helps as a lubricant and it helps with the sticky lube.
Thursday, I will not forget the Encore 15" barrel.
I don't know what the hardness is of the bullet metal. I will check it later with my Saeco Hardness tester and translate it to Brinnel Hardnes Numbers.
No leading of the barrel.
