blued receiver, stainless barrel
« on: January 26, 2005, 02:07:43 AM »
hey all - just put a stainless ML barrel on my blued .223 handi receiver.  i'm diligent about cleaning.  should i be concerned about corrosion on that reciever, or will regular cleaning prevent any problems?

Regular cleaning of the reciever and barrel will prevent any corrosion. I have a blued model and with regular cleaning, I have avoided corrosion.

thanks for the reply.

does H&R recommend or provide instructions for cleaning the trigger/firing assembly?  its never been a concern of mine with the .223, but with blowback in the ML, i was wondering if that firing mechanism could get dirty over time.

any advice?

I have never gone inside the fireing mechanism on my rifle. I do experience some blow back but I clean all the surfaces as good as I can. After a year of owning my huntsman and using my 223, and 30-30 barrels I never had a problem.
