Electronic Powder Measures

My Wife and I are a long-time competitive shooters and I am the designated reloader.  Unfortunately I am  one of those guys who is ”stuck in his ways”.  :?  :?  
     I load several thousand rounds of rifle ammo a year and am still using the same ole Lyman powder measure and Redding beam scale since the ‘70’s.  Yes, I weigh every charge.
     Now that Y2K is past, I have decided to give myself a Valentine present of an electronic powder measure.
     I don't know much about these newfangled contraptons.   :oops: Y’all got any advice.

I've been usink a Pact BBK for at least the last 5 or 6 years, and wouldn't trade it for nothin'. Having said that, My friend got the urge for electronics and went for the Lyman automatic Powder dispenser (forget what the heck the model is) Boy is it slick .... I'm jealous... Fast and accurate, and it "remembers" loads. Very cool..... Marty

I've got the Lyman 1200DPS Electronic Dispenser and the Pact Dispenser/Scale combo. They both work well and if you are weighing each charge then you probably won't lose any time using one. It takes about 30-40 seconds to drop a typical .30 rifle charge.

They are great for extruded powders that get crushed in the typical mechanical dispenser.

There are alot of stories about electronic scales being sensitive to flouresent lights and air currents but I have yet to have a problem with either.

Yea that Lyman one sounds like the one my buddy has ....Very neat.  I too heard alot abt electrical interference, and air currents... to the point I always double checked w/ my balance beam .. at first,   Electric interference??  not yet, Air?? by the time I created (artificially) enough air to have any effect the balance beam was swinging pretty good too.... Me ...  I just enjoy the convenience now.... Marty
