Blake mag 3 powder ?

I have been using it and love it. I do not get to a place to buy it often so I bought 4 plastic jugs this last fall and have used 2 of them. I store them in my gun cabinet and the other 2 are now somewhat clumpy. Question is will this hurt the powder or will it be just fine after I crumble it back up into loose form again? Should I be concerned about it fireing in my Omega after it has hardened somewhat? Thank You   Dave

I have talked with people at Magkor and they say there was a batch of powder that retained more moisture than correct and that batch tends to get clumps in it. It will not affect the performance and can be broken up by just squeezing the can. This condition is supposed to be corrected but it is not a critical thing as it will not affect how the powder performs.

I expect to see something from the Black Mag'3 showing at the Shot Show. I think this is the first time they have participated and it is on this week end. I was planning on attending as I make some firearm lubricants and grease but I had other plans. This powder is coming on strong on the east coast and I am trying to get the west coast distributors interested enough to start pushing. I will post what I hear.

I have looked again and asked dealer here in Delaware, and I still get the same story. There is no interest in Black Mag'3. Pyrodex and triple7 are the sellers here.

There has to be some dealer in the Deleware area as I think I saw another post of a user in Deleware that really likes it. I think as I previously stated the reason there is not a big request at the dealers is because very few are aware that it exists. Maybe the Shot Show results will increase the awareness. It really does work extremely well for me. I do not like the price but it is good enough for me to spend $25 for if my local dealer can start getting it. I have just about accomplished that. He is trying to work with his distributor and the contact in Colorado. I contacted the local rep in this area and he said he could not find a shop interested and I have contacted only two shops and they are both interested. Maybe I should be the rep instead of him. I know however that interest from a known customer holds a lot more weight than a contact from an unknown representative or salesman. That is how I sell my bicycle lubricants. I get some guys using it and have them ask their dealers to stock. I do not advertise.

Keith Lewis, the number 1 seller according to the 5 gun shops I go to in Delaware and I think there is not to many more, is triple7. They tell me they still do not like the black mag3 because the other black magic was no good. It is hard to change if you have something that works.  :D

I guess that is correct which is why BM3 is for me as Triple Seven definately does not work for me. I cannot put up with the crud ring or the sharp recoil with little velocity to go with it. I would rather shoot any other powder including real black. I am not sure about the "Black Magic" comment. I have never heard of Black Magic. I think the BM3 used to be called BM2 and before that it was out as ARCO but the formulation has been changed a little since then. I'm also curious as to what the comment that it was "no good" means? Keep me informed as I still have not managed to get it locally either. I will see if I can find a Delaware dealer; the state isn't that big.

Keith Lewis, the one guy I talked to last refereed to it a black magic, he may of meant BM2. Good luck finding a dealer here that carries it.  :D

I did a quick check on the BM3 site and you are correct; they do not list a dealer in Delaware. Sorry about that, I am trying to get my dealers here in Arizona up to speed and it is a little slow. I have one dealer that has a standing order for four pounds with three guys if he can get it, plus I will buy a couple more pounds. The distribution system seems to be slow in getting set up. I have had some conversations with Magkor and they say selling through Cabelas has been very active. Unfortunately we don't have a Cabelas here. I also told them the price is too high but I don't think I made much headway there if they are selling all they can deliver to Cabelas at $25 a pound. They already know I will pay that much for it so my complaints didn't do much good. It in my opinion is at least twice as good as 777 so I guess I will pay what I have to.
