Bang Off, I did the shoot-clean-shoot thing on a couple of mine, and the rest I didn't....just polish the bore, then go to the range and shoot a bunch. I think that "proper" polishing smoothes the bore so it doesn't collect much jacket fouling and that's what the shoot-clean procedure does, so in essence, polishing does the same thing in advance that shooting does over time, and without all the cleaning, which can over time degrade the bore condition. As it has been said many times, more bores have been damaged from cleaning than shooting!
I think you need those new handis, too! Although the .223 might be more practical for you down under concerning ammo availability, it's a lot more common here and I wouldn't imagine there, too.
