Billboard Blitz to Blast Hollywood
Posted Jan 28, 2005

HUMAN EVENTS has learned that a billboard blitz "thanking" Hollywood for the reelection of President Bush will be unveiled early next week.

The advertisements feature the faces of liberal Hollywood icons Michael Moore, Whoopi Goldberg, Ben Affleck, Martin Sheen, Chevy Chase, Barbara Streisand, and Sean Penn, and offer thanks to Hollywood their help getting President Bush reelected.

Two versions of the billboard were created, both "thanking" Hollywood -- the first for "4 more years" and the second for "W. Still President."

Billboard creator Citizens United, a group that advocates a return to traditional American values, has purchased the use of three billboards near the Kodak Theatre (home of the Academy Awards) for the month of February, which includes Oscar Night, Sunday, February 27

Asked about the campaign, Citizens United President David Bossie said, "We're taking on Hollywood. We've done it in the past." Of the organization's many actions, one of its most famous challenges to Hollywood was Celsius 41.11, a documentary exposing "the truth behind the lies of Fahrenheit 9/11," the Michael Moore anti-Bush mock-umentary.

Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

I had never read that before.  He echoes what many of us have been saying all along.  It's good to know that he isn't as self-absorbed as so many of his colleagues are.  Another voice of true shines!

I had to laugh at you thinking you're the only one.  Hang around for awhile and you'll see that plenty of the infamous regulars in these parts are known primary for being exactly that - unabashed!

God Bless Charlie Daniels...and the folks behind the "thank you " billboards...

It is pretty clear that the Hollyweird Left is certainly morally bankrupt....I mean that if the best standard -bearers you can scrape together is the likes of....Whoopi, Sean and "Messy" Moore....and few more limp-wristed guys....

As the billboard indicates; they sure convicted a lot of people to vote in the last election .........for... W....

   Yeah.....thanks hollyweird!!!!

It's only the movies, folks. They ain't meant to be taken seriously.

And it's even funnier coming from folks who worship Ronald Reagan, Charlton Heston, and Arnold Whatzhisface.
It is the duty of the good citizen to love his country and hate his gubmint.

I wonder that if its no big deal why does Hollywood take the trouble to put political messages in the movies at all?  Why do the actors take the time to get out their message if they think no one should take them seriously?

I wish the movies were made solely for entertainment.

" It's only the movies folks"...

I believe the statements that raised people's ire were mostly made while not on camera.

They were for the most part made in statements to reporters, at DNC fund raisers or even before foreign audiences....trying to smear OUR choice of President before a foreign crowd..

They can keep their little inane films as far as I'm concerned...

Most of those "stars" are chiefly notable for their dazzling nuttiness...

Dali;

Probably the term " convinced " would have been a bit more appropriate.....I was speaking from a slightly different perspective ( possibly Theological)..

CONVICTION:  1. a convicting or being convicted. 2 a convincing or being convinced 3. strong belief
  (Webster's new World)

    I viewed it as #2...

You are undoubtedly pointed out more appropriate for usage for the same root word...
