Accurising the Ruger 96 .22
« on: January 28, 2005, 10:11:36 PM »
Hi, I am keen to find out info on accurising the Ruger 96 .22.LR Much has been done with the 10/22. Just wondering if anyone has customised their 96/22 and if there companies supplying parts/kits for this lever action version. Any assistance would be much appreciated. cheers, Cam....

Accurising the Ruger 96 .22

Just my 2 cents but if Ruger had made the gun accurate in the first place you would not have to do anything to the gun. Folks get on me for my anti- ruger stances and yea I have owned a few at least 10. While some were good guns others were down right inaccurate. Something that Ruger should have never let out of the factory. Good luck with your quest. Jim
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

Accurising the Ruger 96 .22

Hearing inaccuracy problems with the Rugers and the 96/22 model is news to me. Since our firearm confiscations in this country the semi auto rifles are now illegal to most.  The 10/22 was always highly desired in this country. Some ranchers can have the Ruger 10/22 under special permit, tho many cannot. I am a rancher and had mine confiscated along with a nice Ruger .44 mag semi auto. I was pleased with both. Seeing the vast array of Accurising and Custom options available for the 10/22 and that they are being made into real tack drivers, I wondered if anything is being done with the 96/22 as these are available to us here Down Under. I Spoke with Volquartsen on a visit to the US recently, just so happened to be in Carroll Iowa where they are based and know they are doing work on this model. Just wondered if anyone else is?
