.223 to 12 ga turkey?
« on: February 02, 2005, 04:00:32 AM »
I'm planning on a new 12 ga turkey barrel for my Survivor 223 Rem. Bull Barrel.
Any suggestions or warnings?

Should make a fine turkey gun.  I don't see any problem with that combo.

Hardcase,

Might wanna think about one of these...

T98-TK2 12 Ga., 24" Turkey, Extra-Full  $59.00

G98-TK2 12 Ga., 28" Turkey, Extra-Full  $59.00
Add Shippin' and handlin' and the wait goin' and comin'

Throw away the choke and get a good Turkey Thumpin' choke for it .... OR.... Buy the New TDC in 12ga, got a vent rib for puttin' fiber optics on, but same same with the choke, and it will require some Camo Tape to cover that nickle reciever...about $143.70 at Wally World....

We will see if it actually works or not but I spoke to Jennifer in customer service and just ordered the G98 barrel without a choke in it.  They quoted me $36 for the barrel.  That is even cheaper than the fixed choke barrels.  They just received it yesterday so I don't know how it will turn out yet.  When I explained what I wanted she had to get management approval but they did it!

That's interesting! I think I'll wait and see how yours turns out?

I never thought about ordering it with out the choke tube! what a great Idea! I' think there might be a new barrel or two in my near future.
