I was just wondering if it would be acceptable to mix a 50 grn pellet with 35 grn of loose pyrodex, if my ml shot better with 85 grn of powder or just stick with the loose.

chilli, I would stick with pellet or loose. I feel its safer that way. Burn rates are different for loose powder then pellet. Stick with one or the other its safer.

Like Jerry said, don't do it. One charge may push the bullet half way down the barrel before the other one ignites, very unsafe and nobody wants to be holding a pipe bomb. If your gun likes 85 grains, use loose.

On there web site, they tell you not to mix the two.

11. Pellets are intended to be use in place of granular powder. Do not combine Pellets with loose powder. Do not combine Pellets of different caliber sizes.

A muzzleloader user is actually a reloader minus the metalic cartridge cases, scale, and mechnical ram press.
And the old adage is ( THERE ARE OLD RELOADERS AND THERE ARE BOLD RELOADERS BUT THERE ARE  NO OLD BOLD RELOADERS ) :-)
