hello iamb new here and need some help with the value of a 38 caliber pistol.the serial#was run thru s&w office that shows that it was shipped from their factory on nov 25 1898.overall the gun is in good shape.it is a top break.any help would be greatly appreciated.thanks

:grin: thanks for the info the s&w sight answered my questios  i do not o
wn this pistol trying to help a elderly lady whose husband passed away.she wants way to much for it. $550.00 i think that she is trying to sell sentimental value. she also has a 32 long made about 1909 for $400.00. thanks again for your help
