H&R Buffalo Classic
« on: February 04, 2005, 12:30:55 PM »
I just purchased an H&R Buffalo classic in 45-70 what a fun gun.  No bad accuracy right out of the box.  I strongly suggest getting one. lots of fun to shoot. Just my opinion.  Anyone else feel free to comment pro's cons or any hints that could benefit me. :D

Try re-posting this on the H&R forum. You'll get a lot of back slaping there.

Purchased mine 3 hours ago, shot it 1 hour ago.  I think I will have to change the front sight to a bigger peep.  Can't see very will.  What do you think?  It was a joy to shoot today!

Mine shot way too high with all ammo, and the rear sight lowered all the way down. Sounds like they may have fixed that problem, if your's doesn't perform the same. Accuracy was excellent though, and with a rear sight change, it was fine.
I thought it needed a bit more weight, so I pulled the buttplate, and filled the hole with #8 birdshot. Then replaced the plate. It added about a pound to the gun, and really felt better balanced too.
 Enjoy your new BC's fellas!
