THE LAST TWO TIMES I HAVE SHOT MY .36 CAL. BLUE RIDGE FLINTER. THE VENT HOLE LINER HAS STUCK IN THE BARREL WHEN I TRIED TO REMOVE IT FOR CLEANING. I PUT T/C ANTI SEIZE LUBE ON IT BUT IT DOESNT SEEM TO HELP. IT DIDNT DO THIS THE FIRST SEVERAL TIMES I SHOT IT. ANY IDEAS?

:grin: Not so sure I can help you,as I also shoot flintlocks quite a bit on occasion,ans sometimes mine will stick a little also. I am using FP-10 grease on mine when they are installed and have not had a problem with them. I do remove them everythime the gun is cleaned and really go over the threads with a toothbrush. It also is important to have the screwdriver fit it well so enough force can be applied without damaging the face of the vent. I also found that when I soak the inside of the bbl with hot water and have the vent plugged with a toothpick or similar object it comes out a lot easier. I hope this helps......stay safe...King

I always screwed my liner in only far enough so that the liner was flush with the edge of the barrel. I only used bore butter or some type of non oil lube. I believe that oil and blackpowder residue turns to some type of coating that locks the threads when it cools. I never once had a stuck liner in any of my flinters.

If you must use non-traditional goop, I would suggest that you heat the liner with super hot water or a torch before attempting to remove it.
