having a smith drill and tap a taurus
« on: February 04, 2005, 05:06:34 PM »
I was wondering have any of you guys ever had or know anything about a guy drilling the top strap on a taurus RB (8.375) barrel because for the life of me I cannot get those da--ed small sheets of metal to tighten evenly and then my scope is on the gun crooked ! Is it possible to do this since it is ribbed the whole length of the barrel practiculy?

Yes it's possible and I think an excellent idea. I've tried both the B-Square and Taurus clamp on bases. Didn't like either. The Taurus is the better of the two but still I didn't like it.

I'm down to only my RB480 now and I have no intentions of ever scope it as I did the RB454. But if I wanted another RB scoped I'd send it to SSK Industries and have them drill and tap it and put on a T'SOB base. You'll find SSK's banner at the top of the Forums Index Page or click:
