In a thread entitled 10-22 scope you stated. " I know that many people use the scopes on rimfires (which actually are more brutal on a scope because of the additional reverse kick forward.)"

Could you or someone that knows what he is talking about please explain this reverse kick in a rimfire rifle.

I believe he said AIRGUNs not rimfires. Spring powered airguns give a double whammy of recoil to scopes and can tear them apart as a result.

Thanks Greadbeard. The thread is entitled "10-22 scope needed" and he specifically stated 22 rimfire ( unless I'm loosing my comprehension). It is about 8 threads down from this one.

I have heard that term used referring to spring operated air guns but not rimfires. I'm not a air gun owner, since my daisy pump anyway 45 or so years ago. So no first hand knowledge on this.

GB is right, it is airguns, and if I said rimfires, then it was just a mistake on my part talking back and forth between airguns and rimfires.
