Extended Eye Relief Scope on Lever Action
« on: February 05, 2005, 04:51:12 PM »
Has anyone had an experience using the Ashley mount with an extended eye relief scope?

I'm using a conventional scope on my M-94 AE, but I would like to try the Extended Eye Relief concept.

Has anyone switched from the regular scope to the EER scope?  Any reactions to it?  Opinions? Experience?

Would love to hear from someone who has experience with this concept.

Thanx.

The look grows on you. I love them. I'm using the AO mount with Warne low QD rings. Started with a Burris 2.75X Scout. Worked great except in low light. Switched to a Burris 2-7x32 pistol scope with BallisticPlex reticle. Don't feel obligated to use a scout scope, any good pistol scope will work.

I am confused about this.  I had an extra Leupold 2x pistol scope that I was going to mount on my lever gun with an Ashley mount.  From my experience with pistols, I thought the eye relief would be to long.  I put a rag on the barrel and tapped the scope on the gun where it would be with the Ashley mount.  My eye relief was terrible and I did not see how it would be a useable set up.  I see that the Scout scopes have an eye relief between a rifle scope and a pistol scope.

It seems that others say the pistol scope works okay.  If this is true I guess I need to tape it on the barrel again and give it another try.
