Talked my shooting buddy into buying an Ultra Varmit in 223.
My buddy Chris has been talking a while about getting another rifle. He only has a 270 bolt gun. Make, I don't remember. So he wanted another rifle to shoot cheap at the 100yd. line. On weekends, we start at the 25 then go to the 50 with the 22's and some handguns. Well when I go to the 100yd. line, he usually doesn't bring his 270. Well, we talked since summer of last year about another rifle. Told him about the 223 Ultra.
He decided to buy one last night. Called me on the phone and asked me if $265.00, tax and all was a good price. I said yes, that cheaper than I paid for mine. He bought it and I told him not to shoot it till he cleaned it real good and come to the range today and we will use JB bore paste, polish the chamber and install the O-ring. Also told him to buy the Win white box of 45gr. JHP.
Well I'm here to tell you... by the time he got to the second pack of the 20 rounds in the 40 round Value Pack. This rifle was grouping one inch at 100yds. over and over. Man was he HAPPY. :grin:
Me... well I was Jealous since it took so long for mine to start grouping that good. But I sure was glad to help him out.
And besides... Another handi-holic on the way.
