Help with manufacture dates, please. KS-410N
« on: February 07, 2005, 04:42:05 AM »
I have a 10.5" stainless Super Blackhawk with the box, model number KS-410N.  The current gun in this variety is a KS 411N.  The 411N has a bull barrel.  The 410N has a normal tapered barrel like a 7.5 incher.  I know that they only made this variation for a few years but if anyone could tell me the exact years and how many were made, I would really appreciate it.  Is this gun worth more to a collector or is it the same value as the current models?  It might be for sale.

Thanks in advance.

From the book "Ruger and His Guns"...

KS410N: 10 1/2"  barrel; improved target sights; ejector rod and housing lengthened one inch for improved ejection (introduced 1983).

   KS411N:  10 1/2" bull barrel (introduced 1984)

The KS410N is listed as the 7th variation while the KS411N is the 8th variation and having the changes as noted above.

You sir are very welcome.  May I suggest you pick up your own copy of Ruger and His Guns.  I've seen it go on eBay recently for as little as $28.00.  Well worth it as many of us paid twice that originally.  has a great deal of information on each model as well s some great stories behind the models - even the unreleased ones.  Some truely great pictures inside also.   :-)
