25 acp breach plug's ignition hole
« on: February 09, 2005, 05:09:57 AM »
Just a thought here.... What is the IGNITION HOLE size on PR's breach plug?

Did they change it's size from T/C's breach plug's size?
It seems that the T/C's ignition hole is very small and when compared to my Knight rifle breach plug the T/C plug seems to look that is almost half of the size of the Knight plug. I can't even use a standard nipple pick to clean out the little hole.

Can anyone compare the two ( PR and T/C ) plugs to see if there is a difference? or measure it?

I believe it is smaller than the factory plug.  However it now appears they have a new version with interchangeable liners to change the size of the hole.  Randy Wakeman just got a thread deleted on HuntAmerica for trying to say this was patent infringement on the Savage ML-II.  I have no idea how changing the flash hole size affects peformance.
