Muzzy Broadheads?????
« on: February 11, 2005, 01:12:48 PM »
I just bought 4 packs of three(never opened) 100 gr. 4 bladed Bad To The Bone broadheads off a guy for $20.00.  Never used these before so what is the opinion of everyone on them?  Though about letting the wife use them as she uses 100 grain broadheads already.  Lawdog

Lawdog, Muzzys are top notch! I have never had a failure, and often even after pass throughs into dirt and trees, they look as though you could just wash 'em off and use them again. Of course I don't, I replace the blades, and spin test them, but you get my general idea.   :D

I really trust Muzzy broadheads.  They fly great and penetrate well. Plus they hold up.  The other thing that really helps is that mine always came with a set of practice blades.  So I did not have to dull my hunting blades while practicing.

I have been using Muzzy's for years now. I bought 2 packs of Montec broadheads, but I just can't  give up my Muzzy's. I have taken quit a few deer with the Muzzy's and always had pass through shots. Hard to switch when they work so well.  :D

I'm brand new to archery, but I was recommended Muzzy's. That's what I'll be using this deer season. Maybe I'll find out how good they really are. The only thing, mine are 3-blade, not 4.  :D

RedHawk, I hope I won't be dissapointed with any of my equipment. Oh what the heck, while I'm at it I'll list my rig.

PSE Fire Flite 33 L3, 27" draw, 55 lb weight (mebe crank up to 60 by the time the season is in)
PSE F-18 Top Gun Sight
PSE Hornet Prong rest (to be replaced by WhiskerBiscuit)
No-name stabilizer (maybe to be replaced with a Limbsaver?)
PSE Mongoose 6-arrow quiver
Easton ST Axis Arrows
Tru Fire Patriot Release
And of course, Muzzy 3 blade 100 grain broadheads

I like what I see, but will the deer... :)  :-D .  :D

I shoot 4 blade Muzzys and have been very happy with them.  This years deer stopped behind a tree with just the front quarter showing.  My arrow smashed through the shoulder and deflected up.  I still haven't figured that one out, but the head embedded in the spine.  Needless to say, I didn't have to track that deer.  The Muzzy looks like new, the blades are dull, but not even bent.  Jim
