I have a 13.5-14 pound 45-2 7/8” Borchardt that will shooter very well, but only w/ Fg powder & a heavy bullet--540 grns +. (For various reasons, I no longer post my load data.)

From personal experience & from what I have read & observed, I feel that the 405 grn bullet will be too light for this caliber. The successful .45-2 7/8” Shooters that I know or whose posts I read,  have much better luck w/ the heavier bullets of the Creedmoor & Postell design.

I never could get it to shoot  w/ GOEX FFg or Cartridge powder or w/ a lighter bullet.

There are several very successful 45-2 7/8’” Shooters who regularly post on the Shiloh board. I suggest that you log onto that board, do a search, & read the posts pertaining to the .45-2 7/8”.

I believe that there has been some discussion of this caliber also on the GOEX board. Again, log onto that board, do a search, & read the posts pertaining to the .45-2 7/8”.
