MEC 650 powder bushings

                 So I set up my mec 650 with a #32 powder bushing.  I threw ten powder charges and weighed each one.  I had a spread from 17.1 to 18.6 of red dot.  The average was 17.5 and that is good for the load I picked.............BUT, it seemed that a 1.5 grain difference over 10 powder charges is quite a bit.

                 Can anyone comment on the discrepancy?  Is that too much of a variation?  I am going to try another 10 round average to see if I screwed something up on the first 10.

That's a bit more than I would have expected. I'd guess technique is the likely reason. If you get a good technique and do it the same each time you'll find the charges are more uniform than that. Still flake powders are gonna vary some, maybe 1/2 grain or so the best you can do.

Did you record the individual charges? How many were high/low of average and how many of the ten were within 1/2 grain of each other?

              Looks like you folks were on the money bout technique.  I threw two more sets of ten powder charges and they both averaged 17.5, but the variation from was only a total of .5 grains in both sets......the same direction.

              I loaded 10 rounds and will test fire them in a couple days.  Thanks again for your help!
