went to the local gunshow today with the marlin 336 with a 200 price tag on it,walked in the door and wasnt in there 5 mins and a guy bought it for 185.Now....time to find me a handi.So im walkin around and not seeing ANY handi's at all...then i see a guy sitting on a table with a 45-70 handi next to him...so i spoke up..."you selling that?" yes sir i am, 150 and its yours, SOLD!so i got me a new Handi in 45-70.its in pretty good condition but i really dont care since its gonna be gettin worked hard in the brush this fall.So....Now i need a scope.but what one...i dont really want it to be more than 75 dollars....compact and low power.what do you suggest?

Do a search here on scout scopes. Several here have been doing that and it makes for a fine brush gun. I've shot Haywires .357 max with one and its real easy to handle.

I'm a newbi but have learned some here.I would buy a Bushnell Sportsman scope at wally for $70,I did and like it lots.I also bought a Mueller 2x7x32 from Gander and really like it. You can buy it from the net from Opticzone for $129 delivered,and in low light that scope is way better than most red dots.Mueller is gurenteed for ML use most scopes aren't even high priced ones

Scope technology has changed and they are making superior scopes for a hell of a let than even 5yrs ago.I've got a lifetime replacement on both scopes.I know there are big name scopes for big prices but these 2 examples suit me fine.I could buy a $600 scope but I'd rather have a good scope and 2 or three more handi's,just my 2 cents.

I'll second the Mueller 2-7x32 Multi shot, a bit more money but an excellent choice and worth every penny of it and a bit more!!
