It's new and not available .....yet!  Same for the 7.62x39...and The 204 Ruger is available in the program, and it's still not on the list!!! H&R is a bit slow to update their list, to say the least!!!

No one has reported the 500S&W available in the barrel program or a complete rifle yet, but MarkA got a .204 ruger barrel last fall. The 204 Ruger rifles are in store racks now, I have one and there is another in the rack where I got mine...

As an aside I heard on a local talk radio show that deals with gun type topics that all of the .50 cals will be outlawed in Kalafornia when the new law takes effect. I don't know for sure, but it seems it's not just the .50 BMG that was under fire there, or at least that's the way it worked out.
From what they were saying .50 AE, .500 Linebaugh and all the rest of them are out of business too.

I see only the 50BMG rifle as being affected by the law, no mention of any other firearm, handgun or rifle other than the 50BMG due to it's effective range and being able to take down an aircraft.

It's not a total ban, those owning the 50BMG can register them.

What is the .50 Caliber BMG Regulation Act of 2004?
Effective January 1, 2005, the .50 Caliber BMG Regulation Act of 2004 regulates the .50 BMG rifles in essentially the same manner as assault weapons. The law generally prohibits the manufacturing, importation, sale and possession of .50 BMG riles. The same basic exceptions that apply to assault weapons will also apply to the new .50 BMG rifle restrictions. For individuals who lawfully possessed .50 BMG rifles prior to January 1, 2005, the new law also provides for the registration and possession of their .50 BMG rifles.

Might know it would come from the land of fruits and flakes.  Granolaland, ie. California.  Just another stone out of the castle wall.  Thank God for the NRA.

I've lived in Utah for a year and a half now and I feel like I've been paroled sicnce leaving Kalifornia. It's a different world here. I can get a concealed carry permit, and they want me to. I just haven't  because I no longer feel threatened.

Yeah, that probably includes the black powder rifles too. Those knuckleheads. :-D
I HATE KALIFORNIA!!
Ohhhh, I hate when that happens

Just for the record all, it was only the 50 BMG.  The wording is very specific as to what the cartridge dimensions are.

As for CA well I can agree with most of what was said, except for those that are SOOO quick to write off CA, just remember how many electoral votes this state carries.  There is a lot of weird here but there are a LOT of gun loving people here too.

I for one am a life member of the NRA and have let them know I do not appreciate them basically turning their backs on us.  Instead of ridiculing those in this state that fight the same fight you do, even more so, just remember that this state DOES set a trend for many others to follow, good or bad.

Hitler was able to get away with what he did because good people turned their backs to those in need, problem was it soon became their problem too.

Republican gun owners spoke up loud and clear last November and we are not giving up.

The next time CA democrats come up with another ridiculous gun law, you might want to help in the fight.  keep in mind that our gun laws are not proposed by CA residents, for the most part.  They are started by the SAME ANTI GUN lobbies that will hit YOUR state next.  Letters to YOUR senators and gouvenors do make a difference.  Let the senate and congress know you do not go along with those laws and that THEY need to vote against them.

There, I'll get off the soap box for now, just get tired of being called  a fruitcake all the time.  I live here, like a lot about here, but not the gun laws.  To leave is only to invite it to YOUR state next.
God, Family, and guns, in that order!
