Rusty,, the sub gun on the bottom is a PPSH ,, they were made by the Russians made millions during WWII and a few survived the war and were brought back as war trophies.. several years ago some of these  were imported as parts kits to be made into display guns..  
Fully functional full auto sub guns are legal to own provided they are properly registered with the BATF and you meet the requirements..
and pay the $200.00 tax ..

Between the better russian tanks, their snipers and squads of guys with PPSH's they beat the Germans.  I would say ther squads of guys with ppsh's must have been some awesome firepower directed in one area.  There was some pics of guys with the ppsh's on the history channel I believe in the AK47 story.                              BigBill

You have some more rusian guns to go there!!!  Like an M44,  M38 and a  M91/59.  Then you can get into the finnish captured russian guns too like the Finnish M39, Finnish M27 and the finnish 91/30 mosins which there are many versions  the russian 91/30's that were captured by the finnish while some were reworked some weren't.  Some 91/30's have fatty finnish stocks with steel sling loops and some have skinny russian stocks with dog collars.  Some i have are stamped #41 and the othesr are marked [SA].  They were all russian mosins at one time.

Hey Pat m41,
Just trying to learn about a few of these rifles.
I recognize the sks and ak 47.  Hwat are the top 2 but most importantly what is the bottom and it it hard to get ahold of these.  I would like to have a russian family myself.  I have an ak-47 and would like to add these as well as a ak 74.  Thanks for the help

The rifle on the top ia a Mosin Nagant 91/30  in 7.62x54r  dated 1943
The main bolt action battle rifle used in Russia during WWII..
The second one is a Tokarov SVT 40  a Russian semi auto in 7.62x54r
dated 1940.. also a WWII battle rifle..
Next is a Russian SKS in 7.62x39 dated 1953 semi auto
The fourth is a Russian AKS 47 underfolder dated mid 1950's as there is no date on it.. built from a kit on a milled reciever as the origionals were
but in semi auto..
Last is a PPSH sub gun.. sorry to say but its a kit made display dummy
gun all welded up and non functional.. the only legal way i can own it
dated 1951 in 7.62x25  

I still have some others to gather up but im working on it.. right now
im doing a AK74 in 5.45

Thanks for the help!  Where can a person still get a Russian made ak 47 at?  Second anyplace you could suggest I coud find a few of these rifles. Such as the wwII rifles.  Thanks

The Russian AK is a kit from Sportsmans Guide..  
the milled reciever is from The FiringLine ..

The AK kit cost $169.00 , the milled reciever cost $465.00  so a milled AK
kit is not going to be a cheap project..
Also these are really for a advanced builder dew to their construction,,
special knowlage is needed in headspacing a milled kit..

I recomened you build a couple stamped AK's before starting a more advanced build  as a milled ak

Hello all -

Been lurking here for awhile and finally have a question...
Where do you find a Stamped AK receiver? I saw the sportsmans guide Russian kits and thought it might be a neat project to build one. I have heard of several guys building FAL's and black rifles from kits, but not anyone building an AK. I usually stick to bolt guns, the Mosin is my favorite, but I have salvaged several parts guns from Carcano's to Mausers that were poorly sportered. I can't stand seeing something with good potential (like a barrelled receiver) just going to waste!

Stamped recievers are avaliable from many distributers.. The best ones are made by Ohio Ordnance Works and Global Trades..
these are 100% recievers meaning they will have to be shipped to a FFL
expect to pay 50-80 dollars for one.. all that needs done is drill the holes
for the trunions.. then screw it together or use rivets...
AK parts kits are getting rare now days... but if you look hard you can still find a Polish or Hungarian kit in 7.62x39...
Bulgarian 5.45 are avaliable but hard to find.. and expensive..
There is a shipment of Yugoslavian AK comming, but the proper 100%
reciever dont exist as of yet.. but 80% recievers are avaliable..but
more work is needed to make them ready to assemble a rifle with.
The Yugos use a different barrel trunion, a RPK style ...
There are several web sites to help you build a stamped AK..
Best of all depending on the kit selected you can have a legal semi auto
AK for less than $350.00
