Which one would you pick 150 grain Winchester Fail Safe or 180 grain Nosler Partition? We are going on a "Trophy" hog hunt so I am looking for the biggest hog I can find.

the 150 wfs will slay any hog that ever walked, but the 180 np will do it from more angles and at a greater average range.

if you practice enough, so that you can put the bullet between the back of the eye and the base of the ear, suprisingly small bullets work like a charm. but practice is the key.

I don't know what kind of rifle you have, or if your gonna use factory ammo or not. If you are using a bolt action and are using factory ammo, you might want to try Federal's 180 gr. Nosler Partition High Energy load. If you are using a pump, lever action or semi-auto try their regular 180 gr. Nosler Partition ammo. I think the Fail Safes will work, but I would want to use the heavier bullets.

Just bought the Federal High Energy 180 grain NP the other day. Pretty impressive numbers. I will let you know how they work on a big TX hog.
