..hey guys i bought a new rifle the other day , and was very amazed at its accuracy :lol: .i bought a mossberg 44u.s..it looks like crap, but it outshot my cz452 and marlin 7000 :eek:. it cost me $175 plus a bsa 6*24*40ao scope$100..these rifles are amazing! after i sighted it in i shot a 98 at 25 yards

. never seen or shot one, just bought on the principal that id never had one. im convinced they are on my buying and looking list now. :wink: .anyone else have this rifle @ how does yours shoot?

MMR, I have an old 44 u.s. and a new CZ 452. I seriously doubt the Mossberg ever saw the day it could come close to the CZ. Same goes for a 144 Mossberg. I suppose now that I said this I should get them out and try them side by side. nmj

GREAT CHOICE YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH A MOSSBERG BOLT ACTION ESPECIALLY THE 44 SERIES OR THE 144 SERIES . SOME OTHER GREAT MOSSY SHOOTERS ARE THE 35 , 46M SERIES ALL WILL SHOOT MOA OR BETTER WITHOUT ANY MODS AND CHEAP AMMO. MORE GUN FOR THE MONEY !!!

THE mossberg 44 us models will easily shoot as well or better than the CZ I HAVE SEEN BOTH IN ACTION ONLY THE CZ HAD THE TRIGGER JOB . I DON'T HAVE A SINGLE STINKER THEY ALL SHOOT AS GOOD AS THE CZ. NONE OF THIS 25YRDS BUSINESS LETS TALK ABOUT 40YRDS AND BEYOND . THERE ARE MANY GUNS THAT SHOOT GREAT AT 25YRDS BUT ANY OF THEM CRAP OUT AT 50+ IT HAS BEEN MY EXPERIENCE THAT THE OLD MOSSBERGS ALTHOUGH INEXPENSIVE CAN COMPETE WITH TODAYS GUNS OF THE SAME PRICE RANGE OR EVEN A LITTLE HIGHER. I HAVE ONLY PAID OVER 250.00 FOR ONLY 2 OF THE COLLECTION OF MOSSYS I OWN.

A friend in Montana had a Mossberg match rifle years ago. It had two screws in the forend that adjusted the tension on the barrel. Shot very well indeed.

I have quite a few different models but i have never seen one or heard of one that has the adjustment you mentioned but i would be very interested in know what model it was perhaps i have one and don't even know it. lol the only model i have heard anything remotley like that was a 144lsb but i don't think it was made like that from the factory but i remember hearing on rimfire central guys saying to loosen up the barrel band .

Yep I do not have one but I ever find one for a decent price that I can live with and it does not break the bank I will buy one. My Romanian 69 shoots dang well it is one of the ones with the nice finished barrel on the outside and the bore is like a match barrel in the inside. It will consistantly shoot under a inch at 50 yards. Most of the time under a half with ammo it likes. So will my Henry 22 mag. Still I would like to find one of those older Mossbergs just to have one. Jim

If you think the Mossy is accurate, get one of the H@R mod 12's before the CMP runs out at $225. I bought 2 and both of them outshoot my Win52D. It is heavy gun and not intended to be used in silhouette but as a bench gun for cheap it is the berries. Regards...g
