I just took ownership of a Dodge Ram 1500, 5.2ltr, 2wd, auto. My first non-GM vehicle in 23 years of driving. I donated my '97 1-ton Chevy 6.5lTD dually cause nobody bit on my selling price.  :?  Anyway, the Dodge has 242,000 miles on it. I kind of inherited it from my stepdad, who recently passed away.  I couldn't sell it for my mom, so I bought it from her. I'll keep yall updated on the transformation of this GM guy. (not that anyone is all that interested)

I have a 2002 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab SLT 4X4. Its got a 4.7 V8, tow package and power everything. My wife drives a 2003 Dodge Durango SLT 4X4, it has the same options as my Dakota

The lease was up on the my 2002 Dakota...........so I got a 2005 Durango. Its the "SLT" with a "HEMI"!!! Just picked it up tonight (12/30, I haven't gone to bed yet so its still yesterday   )! Its has the "All Wheel Drive" transfer case with "4-lock" and "4 low-lock". It also has the tow package and aluminum wheels! I can't believe the power it has! This thing is awesome!

rwng, you say that Dodge Ram has 242,000 miles on it?  Thats great!!!, you could be an ad for Dodge. I have a Dodge Ram and there is another one sitting in my yard right now, my buddy from Maine was down last weekend and I saw an unbelievable ad in the paper, we went, we looked, we drove, we checked, he bought, my money!!! He has since repaid me and will be back down this weekend with plates to drive it home. Tell me about your jewel with 242,000 miles on it, I want to know!!!....<><....

Dang you guys with all those miles.. I must sit at home alot.
Mine is a Chev. 3500 - 1993 with a total of 38,923 miles on it. Yup 38K only. Worth only about 6K selling out right and 10K as a trade in. Mileage sucks. Guess if I took off the 1800 pound camper - Would love a 1500 series Chev or a Toyota pickup. Wife says - we ain't selling the camper..

Well, last tue i just traded me underpowered 180hp 2004 nissan frontier crew cab in for a 2005 nissan frontier crew cab with 265hp.Not only is the 2005 larger,200 pounds heavier but it gets better gas milage. This is my 2nd nissan truck as i stated, all others have been chevy's.The resale /trade in prices on chevy/fords in my area is terrible.Who wants to buy a used chevy when they are taking 10,000  off the price of a new one ?
Anyway,im the 1st in my area to get the new 2005 frontier and i love it.I'm getting 20 to 22 mpg and the freeway and 17.8 in mixed driving.Lots of power, lots of leg room in front and back seats and more bed room than the 2004 short bed.

There's not much to tell, I bought it from my Mom when my Stepdad passed away. He drove 60-90 miles to and from work, mostly e-way. Oil changes about every 6-10,000 miles, I don't recall any tranny or major work on it. (maybe brakes) My Suburban has 231,000 on it but it's on it's 2nd tranny. I've never owned anything but GM vehicles, so this is a first for me. So far I'm happy with it.

Thanks for thr reply rwng, no one in my family ever had Chrysler Corp vehicle now there ar 3 sitting out front of my house with no problems at all. I know some have tranny problems with Chrysler Corp vehicles (Ram pickups) but Our vehicles have been GREAT!!! But for my next truck I may go to a Nissan for better mileage, and I don't need a big Ram anyway....<><....

BattleRifleG3, I tend to agree with you, some I know have had nothing but problems with Chrysler Corp vehicles. We have a Dodge Ram 4wd, a PT Cruiser and a Chrysler Sebring out front right now, and I have had NO PROBLEMS, and my truck is a 1996!!!. My son has a GMC Yukon with problems and others swear by them, go figure....<><....

I drive a 1987 Ford Lariat XLT, with Auto-tranny and a 302. I love that truck. Only bad thing is that it drink gas as fast as you can pour it in the tank, hehe. It'll get up and run too, doesnt have much torque at take off, but it has pretty good top-end once it gets rolling.

I've got a '04 Chevy Z71  1/2 ton and a 99 F-250 Superduty. The Chev gets the pavement and the Superduty takes me huntin' n fishin'. Both are perfect for what I ask of them.

Traded my '98 Dakota extended cab 4x4 V6 last month for a '05 Silverado 1500 4 door 4x4. The wife has a '04 Trailblazer my brother-in-law got through an auction for us. It was an Interprise lease vehicle.

Back in June, I bought a MY '05 GMC Seirra 2500HD Crew Cab SLT pkg and the 6.0 engine. I took advantage of the discounts. "Big Red" is used for pulling horses and soon to become the new "meat wagon" when bear and deer seasons get here.
I have a MY'05 Chevy Trail Blazer for work.

Had a 4x4 dodge some time back, let me tell you that was a truck!  that thing could pull anything out of anyplace, sadly it was a GAS HOG!!!!!!
Traded it in on a FORD pick-up.  Not only is this easy to drive hour after hour it gets great gas mileage as well.  That`s a combination that makes me very happy.

Well let's see...First of all I have no particular brand loyalty.  However my wife and I are on our fourth new Ford car....a 500 Limited, like it so far.  I just unloaded a 1979 Chevy K-5 Blazer, which had over 250,000 miles on it.  About broke my heart, but it was time for it to go.  I have a 1998 12 valve 2500 Dodge/Cummins pickup with automatic 4 speed tranny I bought new.  It now has 58,000 miles on it. Amongst other things, I use it to tow a 25.5 ft. 5th wheeler.  No major mods, use a K&N air filter, use Schafer 15-40 semi-synthetic oil, and had a fuel pump modification which bumped torque up to over 600 lbs.  Made a major difference in towing the trailer up hills.  No change in regular mileage but actually improved while towing...from 12.5 mpg to almost 14 mpg.  Plan to look for a smaller 4 x 4, like a Geo or Suzuki for general farting around and fuel economy.
Happy Trails!
